I forgot to come back and report on this one.
I'm still not sure why the doctor prescribed these instead of the tablets. I have no trouble swallowing stuff, and I get impatient with these things dissolving in my mouth.
They're not all that bad, though. I can't tell a difference in efficacy. I suppose they work a little quicker, maybe.
------------
The Pros -
They do not taste bad
They may work more quickly (or they may not...I don't know)
The Cons -
They're harder to handle. You have to be careful not to bust them up, and if you go out of town you have to carry them in blister packs instead of a bottle.
You can't just swallow them and get on with it
I went to sleep just after taking one once, and apparently didn't swallow it all. The remnants of it caused a horrible taste in my mouth that was very difficult to get rid of.
I think they make this for kids. Prevacid is apparently indicated for some other non-GERD disease that's specific to children.
