I recently read of a very interesting piece of research. It found that chewing gum (I believe sugarless) could ameliorate GERD symptoms--contrary to what had been believed!
I've had occasional heartburn, and I tried it, and it seems to work!

Does it have to be sugarless gum or does regular work?
Thanks,
Pattypan

I'm fairly sure sugared gum will work.

Chew Trident Cinnamon gum (cinnamon is good for the digestion) after every meal. It's a benefit for anyone to aid digestion and specifically for sufferers of GERD. You can find it in supermarkets, if they don't have it ask them to get the specific cinnamon one.
