Adam's apple pain...anyone had this?

I just wondered if it was related to gerd, or, what it is in general?
It hurts most when I swallow and it's getting worse.

Could be GERD...could be a soar throat with a cold comiing on...Do you still have tonsils? Could be that....Does anything relieve it....like cold, or hot, or cough drops...anything like that? Kind of a tough question...LOL

I agree with Tammy - this is a tough question. We aren't physicians, so we can't give an accurate answer, just relay personal experience. At no point in my experience with severe GERD did I have Adam's apple pain. I have experienced severe swelling in my throat that made it painful to swallow, but for me it was always virus or cold related - just normal being sick with no connection to GERD.

You should see your doctor. It could be anything from Strep to a Thyroid issue. Is it a sharp pain specific to swallowing movements?

Hello.
The pain while swallowing has gone away but now I have pain on the lower part of that area...it almost feels like a straining pain...like what you get when you try to do a situp without holding your neck. I had a similar pain before the problem I posted here initially but it went away. Now it's back. I also had a bad fall due to losing control of some dogs but I believe this new pain started before that.
It also hurts on the bottom part at the touch...like it's tender...
