????want your opinion???think GERD can get worse with virus

I know I have had a asthma/allergy virus.  I had chills and was quite tired.  The other night I woke up with a mini-esophageal spasm.  Also noticed I was belching more than usual and have had a really sore throat, bad taste in mouth. 

I sure hope it is part of a virus.  Has this ever happened to any other GERD sufferers.  eyes eyes eyes

I get a very sore throat sometimes its so bad if I talk it hurts but i dont really belch or get a bad taste in my mouth, but i am always tired, my tiredness I put down to is I look after 2 small kids everyday dont work so I get bored. I m at the GI docs on friday will be asking lots of questions & one question is about my throat so I will keep you updated on what he says.

I know its hard not to worry because I am worried, all we can do is get ourself checked out & hope for the best.

HI there Joan...I would say for sure a virus can worsen your GERD...if it doesn't subside in a few days, check with your doc!!! Keep us posted hun!

Thank you tammygirl...it seems to be calming down with the use of fast acting antiacids and my taking 20 mgs. of omeprazole daily.
