Hi, I've recently developed psoriasis too. Or it seems so. I have not seen a dermatologist yet because I can't take any more time off work and nobody works after 5pm. Anyway, I use Doak Oil Forte on my hands, and then apply Zinc Oxide and wear white cotton gloves all the time. They kind of alleviate the pain I get when touch things.(I have a physical job, work mainly with my hands and have two little kids at home, so I use my hands all the time. i put latex gloves on top of the cotton ones when I have to deal with water.). I know you said tar preparations don't help you but Doak Oil is just coal tar liquid, no additives, and gives some comfort. At least, to me. Could there be any correlation b/n this and UC. I have it, too.
I recently started reading 'Healing psoriasis - the Natural Alternative' by Dr. John O.A. Pagano.
It seems he has helped a lot of people.
Take care,
