PA diagnosis, free enbrel, side effects

Hi everyone,

I was diagnosed with PA about 5 weeks ago. My dermo immediately prescribed Enbrel, which took some doing because I don't have health insurance. Eventually she got them to donate it, so I have several thousands of dollars worth of it chilling in my fridge. Very kind of the people at Amgen.

The problem? I had my first injection yesterday and today I feel like I got hit by a bus. Coughing, headache, overall body pain, not just the hand pain I'm usually dealing with, and I'm exhausted. I've sent a note to my doc, but wanted to know, is this going to happen every time I inject? Does it get easier? I hate to complain since everyone has been so gracious and supportive and giving, but the cure is almost worse than the symptoms!

If anyone can offer suggestions or advice, I'd appreciate it!

Steph the side effects that you are having does the dr say this is normal & should go away after a certain period of time? Granted nearly all meds have some side effects but usually they get better in time.
