Does anyone with Psoriatic Arthritis also get bad tendonitis flare ups? I'm on methotrexate for the PA and Remicade for Crohns but keep getting tendonitis. I currently have it in my wrist and both feet and ankles. I had surgery in July to relieve a bout of tennis elbow that wouldn't clear up but I can't keep having surgery every time I get tendonitis. I don't want to use prednisone and cortisone shots don't help me. I really am at a lose as to what to do.

Hi Jodi, sorry to read you are struggling so with tendonitis. I have PA and have had some problems in the past with my elbows but nothing like what you are describing. What is your dr telling you about this? I am at a loss with this too. I can understand not wanting to be on the evil Prednisone. I hope you will come back and let us know how this turns out. My Rheumy is bumping up my Methotrexate dose to the max for my weight and since my Crohns is under control I'm trying an NSAID. I tried the evil pred when the tennis elbow started and got 2 cortisone shots with not relief. I am not very confident that the NSAID will help. My Rheumy also might talk to my GI about increasing my Remicade dosage. I'm also going to look into an anti inflammatory diet.

I have been on MTX for about a year. Tendonitis in my wrists started about 4 months after I started the MTX. I take it on Sunday and the pain is worse on Monday. It seems to lessen through the week and on Saturday is almost gone. I think there is a correlation between MTX and tendonitis.

There is not a correlation between the MTX and tendonitis for me. I've been battling tendonitis since I was a teenager which is years before starting MTX or Remicade.
