I have Guttate Psoriasis. I was covered from my breasts to the tops of my feet by December 2008 after I was diagnosed in the summer of 2008.
I tried Taclonex ointment and had samples of a steroid cream (could not afford either as I didn't have insurance, but managed to get a tube of Taclonex for $100) but neither fully helped. By February my spotty patches were gone.
I rarely had a flare up of one or two patches on my torso or thighs over the years.
In 2013 I was diagnosed with severe Ulcerative Colitis, another auto-immune disease. I was on Remicade in April and May 2014, but it did not help and I had my colon out in July 2014. By the end of August I started noticing my psoriasis coming back. Currently my head is covered, which did not happen before.
I also am dealing with Psoriasis taking over healing wounds, which I dealt with in the past. I had a second surgery in November and my wounds won't completely heal because they have become psoriasis patches.
I am planning to make a doctors appointment for this, already told I can get a referral, I'm just curious as to what the Psoriasis Medications are like now. I did a quick search online and everything seems to point to the Big Guns type of drugs like biologics and such. Are there not creams for Psoriasis anymore?
THANKS for ANY responses!!
