Does anyone else deal with Scoliosis and Osteoarthritis in their
spine and shoulders?

I never know what forum I belong on. I usually go to another
place but I'm looking for a forum where I'm maybe a better match ~
one more specific to my problems.

I could go to Anxiety, Depression, Or Chronic Pain
But it seems to me that if one has Pain ALL
the time that those problems just go with our diagnoses.

I think there's a lot I can learn here.

It's December One. This can be a difficult month for many of us.

Yes i have this plus fm what helps me the most is trigger point injections,pain patches Deb

What do they inject when they do Trigger Point Injections?

Hello Pam,

This is Kitt and I am glad to meet you.  I would suggest that you utilize all the forums you feel may help you but concentrate on the disease/disorder that you have a major dx with and the one that causes you the most problems in living your life to the fullest.  Many diseases cross over into other areas so I realize it is sometimes very frustrating when you are looking for answers.

Also when you do see your physician take along a list of your questions as your physician can be your best friend when dealing with many issues and multiple problems.

Support groups are a place for people to give and receive both emotional and practical support as well as to exchange information. People with health conditions, as well as their friends and families find support groups to be a valuable resource and get confirmation that their feelings are "normal", educate others, or just let off steam.  However a support group should never take the place of your physician.

I had severe scoliosis and had surgery with two rods in place when I was 14. I'm now 36 and it still gives me trouble, I have arthritis also. I've had problems with my sciatic nerve at times too. A couple years ago I started having trouble with my elbow, it was diagnosed as tennis elbow. I've never even played tennis, lol.

Hello and welcome to the Osteo forum.  It sounds like you are familiar with the pain of osteo and have had some issues with sciatic nerve pain too. 

What are you doing to deal with your pain?

I was taking Motrin, meds of that nature. For awhile I took Vioxx, which worked pretty well until it went off the market. Since I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease doc said stay away from anti-inflammatories. Now my choices are Tylenol or Lortab. For my sciatic nerve pain and Tennis Elbow holding ice on the area's help some too.

Hi There to all.

I am new to the forum , and have been posting in Chronic Pain.
I have just stumbled across this thread.
I to have severve scolosis which has progressed.

latest x-ray show Degenerative Disc Disease, Osteoarthritis.
My curve is on a 45 degree angle.
My Scolosis was diagnosed at 17 years age, i am now 40.
My pain has increased dramatically, which prompted me to seek medical attention.

Love to hear from anyone else in a similar situation.
