OMG

Not new to Healing Well but new to this forumn...here's my story....diagonosed in 2008 with Ulcerative Colitis, various meds over the last two years, most prevelant was prednsone in various mg's over a period of 14 months, have ben pred free since March 1st. lately I'm having all sorts of joint pain, mostly shoulders and hips. Went to the doctor and have been told I have a mild case of Osteoarthritis. They said the pred was probably hiding the symptoms. Here's my question...both tylenol and advil work for me but do me no favors with the UC, anybody have UC and Osteoarthritis and if so what are you doing/taking?

I take Tylonel Arthritis in addition to Celebrex. Celebrex is usually not ok for Uc'ers either but like Judy, I seem to do fine with it. Tylonel arthritis works pretty good and it lasts for 8 hours.

For the 6 months prior to my surgery, I was taking Ryzolt, which is a new, 24-hour time release form of Ultram. It worked amazingly well - so well I was questioning having the surgery!

I had been awake in the night 2-3 hours per night for almost a yea prior to starting Ryzolt, would whimper with pain doing stairs or getting in/out of the car - and the Ryzolt helped all that and did not affect my UC at all.

Now, post-surgery, I'm on regular Ultram and Percoset.... and it's like I'm in UC remission: formed stools without urgency about twice a day. Hallelujah!
