hoping I don't have this...

Hi. I started noticing symptoms of this about 5 years ago. It first started with brutal pain on left leg/hip joint. I never felt anything like it and was confused but thought it was either from football injury and even car accident I had just months before. It was on and off as it would get real brutal where I would walk with a slight limp and going up stairs was tough. I never really told anyone as i was confusef cause it would come at months at a time. I actually joked here and there when asked as i would laugh and say its a seasonal injury. For a few years it would start on the left leg/hip for like 2 weeks then shoot to the right side. Then it would stop for awhile as if I were 100% then reappear months later. This went on and still happens to this day. But like 2-3 years ago the samething happened but to my lower back/spine. And was always rough when I woke up. Right when the back thing happened I also noticed brutal pain in my upper chest...like i had holes in my lungs. I thought it was totally unrelated until I read that was a symptom as well. I still get the leg and hip pain at its WORSE every so often...the back stiffness is always there and also gets BRUTAL every so often. The thing is that i just turned 26 too and would of never of thought of it being osteoarthritis until an update came from my facebook feed from everyday health as they shared a story and i seen in description of women with arthritis pain in left hip and lower back and that clicked in and got me worried. That was like 2 months ago and ive been worried and researching since.
So sorry for the wall of text but I feel I need to describe in detail.
Is it fair to say I might potentially have this? Any feedback and help would be much appreciated. Thanks...

Thanks. about two years ago I went to my moms family doctor, then went for xray but missed follow up appointment. Never went back. Tried calling this week and they said my file was closed and cant make another appointment until I fill out form and when they have room so might take awhile. I always felt that if I went when my pain was at its worse they woulnt be able to find anything which is obviously in my own head. Should I wait til im able to get appointment there or can I even just go to a walk-in clinic? Thanks for feedback, this has been bugging me for too long.

Sorry to say that you are having these symptoms at such an early age. I experienced something very similar at your age, pain in my dorsal area and lumbar area, and after a car accident, which was only small compared to some car accidents there are, I got a pain in my dorsal spine, preceded in minutes by a pain shooting through my chest, and up into my jaw. This unfortunately turned out to be my spondylitis to which I had already been diagnosed at 28, I was then thirty. I do suffer with pain in my hips and sciatic nerve, which precedes down my buttock and ends in my ankle, though again this is due to my spondylitis, and having been prescribed Pregabalin, has now ceased to exist on an everyday basis. Have you been prescribed any xrays? I found that I had to have some 'special' xrays, which they don't do anymore, to help the rheumatologist diagnose my problem. But when they did these, I found I had an answer to my pain, which was a releif because people around me at the time were all saying that it must have been only due to being a bit depressed, which by my standards, was annoying and I wanted to know that these pains I was having (unfortunately have got worse since, but I am now 44) wasn't all in my head. If I were you, I'd want them to find what is wrong, so that the doctors can help you.

You should see an orthopedist to have your back and hip checked out. You shouldn't ignore the chest pain in case it is something serious. It could be your back referring pain to your breast bone. I have had this before. Physical therapy might be on your list of have to do. By fixing your back and getting you to do regular exercises it can stop the referral pain..if this is what it is. I need to lay my back across a yoga ball and drop my arms and legs to the floor. There is this horrible popping sound with excruciating pain and then all is well til the next time.

You need to check with your primary to be sure the chest pains are nothing serious and then go on to the above. Good Luck to you!
