whoops i accidentally ignored chotti and someone else. i thought i was giving their comments a thumbs up but instead i ignored them. can i fix that?

may I add...the doctors' Why did you wait so long or the more famous well, try coming back in two or three weeks if it does not clear up?

Just passing through and this caught my attention.

Judy, Chotti: That's one of my fav too, "But you don't look sick". To add to it, they would say '"But you don't look sick. You're looking better than me!".

This was always told to my dad who was a living miracle. Since his passing, they now say, "I didn't know he was so sick cause he never looked sick."

I get that a lot too ..like if we went in sooner they would say it's just a sprain send then u home. I had a dr say to me ," I have already spent 10 minutes longer with u" .."if u want me to help u with that cyst removal ( it's ozzing pus out my ear earlobe & the whole point of making the appt in the first place), u will have to make another appt".

I wear a custom made back brace. I wear it under my cloths.
I wear knee supports under my cloths. Two hip replacements. One gone wrong... And screws in both shoulders. I have fun at the airport going thru security...I laugh at their faces as they watch the X-rays. I always get pulled over and taken into a private room.

I had a brace on my right wrist and the airline ticket service wouldn't allow me to sit in a exit isle with longer leg room with my husband. I explained I can't sit in the regular seats they force my knees up to high which causes hip my implant tendons to cramp up. I even showed her a card from my drs expressing this as a prerequisite . The response was the brace is visible u cannot open the exit door. So I took the brace of my hand put it in my purse...then I fit their criteria to sit in the exit seats. It's a good thing they don't require u to bench press 5 pounds of course I can't even lift a gallon of milk.


SUNNY, I believe UR various experiences. I know they r true cause I have had quite a few like urs too.
I received a disability parking permit. I look ok so I get a of out my car & ever time I get some really nasty looks from people .

Are they jealous because I get to park in front of the door? Hey I'd give up my disabled parking permit in a New York minute to be able to walk a block , lift a gallon of milk or run after my grandchild.
UR so right if they can't see it then ya don't got it! Typical attitude!

Funny thing though once I get in the elec. cart provided at the grocery stores, everyone in the store goes out of their way to help me. Go figure.Its a double standard. I really don't know what else to call it.

It always amazes me how judgemental especially docs and society in general are.

After my MRI just reciently ordered by my hip surgeon. The docs PT calls me to tell me to go see my spine specialist. I'm like ????
Alrighty then I always have a spine specialist list in my back pocket.
And the PT wasn't allowed to tell me the results! Now I have to wait another week ( that's 5 weeks total), to find out the results of the MRI, because the doc is on vaca.

I got it sorted out finally. The hospital has a protocol that once the doc reviews the MRI or any tests the PT must post the results in..."My Chart",a computer system for patients. So now that brings it down to only 9 days to find out what's goin on with my back again.

Just some of those things that makes u go ummmmmmmm!

Well since there seems to be no reason for UR pain from these tests then I guess UR just gonna have to learn to live with the pain.

This one is so true it was when I was in my late 20's suffering severe pain from stones caught in my bile duct. After 5 docs and 8 years no one could explain the source of the pain. Even the ER Thought it was a heart attack. After tests it wasn't. They sent me home with pain med I was allergic to .

One doc said after reviewing my X-rays and tests.. Their is nothing wrong that he could see, that I should go get a book called "I'm OK ..YOUR OK" and read it. I swear to God! He was sure my debilitating pain was in my head.

Finally a gestrointerologist said the pain is not all in my head , its in My gallbladder at 29 yrs old. The X-ray showed stones in the bile duct. I could have kissed him!

That is so true..it's because of UR age. So u r going to have to accept aging it's the fact that many r suffering from chronic pain that has been ignored or over treated in many cases. Hormones changes and natural body changes is part of aging.

Hey I work my tail off every day... My tail is still attached & so is my pain.

Exercise, reduce stress , improve relationships, do yoga, swimercises, & family unrelenting nagging get out more & u need to loose some weight and diet is always at the bottom of the best well meaning advice. It just DOES NOT make a difference when UR unable to do & what most take for granted. Oh and the biggie from HOLLYWOOD...drink lots of water. Ukkkk!
