Thank you IDES for your reply, I havnt seen a podiatrist yet but I am hoping to have an appointment sent through soon. I work for the NHS so hopefully it wont be a problem getting seen. Please give me your opinion as to what you think it may be, I wont hold it against you. Promise /

I am thinking it might be a Morton's neuroma. The Mayo Clinic has a good description: Mayo Clinic on Morton's Neuroma

I had one and it was quite annoying. The podiatrist got rid of it by injecting it several times. I haven't had any problems since. Good luck at your appointment! Let us know what they decide is causing your discomfort.
