Joint replacement in my thumb

Hi I am 52 and i am having Joint replacement in my thumb on 14 March and I am very worried about the whole thing especially doing day to day things as it will be my right hand and I am so glad that I have found a site that I can discuss things with others in the same position as myself. I have read some of the messages and I am not sure if they make me feel better or worse !!! I would really value some advice from someone who has recently had the same op. Many thanks.

Hello and welcome. I was scheduled for the surgery but had to cancel at the last minute as I came down with pneumonia. I will have it and know I can do it so if you understand the procedure and feel comfortable with you surgeon than I would suggest you go for it. That is just my humble opinion.

Thanks stkitt I am very confident with my surgeon and have done a fair bit of research on the condition so hopefully god willing all will be well
