Blood clot 8 months after THR?

I know it is possible to get a blood clot after hip replacement surgery, but what about 8 months out. My knee is swollen and I have a lot of pain, what is the possibility this is a blood clot or somehow related to my surgery?

Go to the emergency room, you could die from this.

Probably not a clot, but likely an infection. Newly replaced joints are more susceptible to infection, that is why orthopedists recommend you take antibiotics before any dental work or invasive procedures. Do call your surgeon ASAP about this.

I called the surgeons office and the nurse was sure it wasn't a blood clot. I've got an appointment for Tuesday. The pain isn't any better in my knee and is getting worse around my hip.

Well I found out today that my knee is going to need replacing, hopefully down the road. The doctor gave me a cortisone shot and said I could try the Euflexxa injections next, hopefully surgery can wait a while. Although I have tendinitis in my hip he thinks my pain is from compensating for my knee and hopefully it will now get better, if not I can try a cortisone shot in my hip next month when I go back. Hope the shot works, it really wasn't that bad.
