hi lamb61 -- i wish you well in your search for answers to help your lower spine. everyone is so different in their reactions to the spinal shots, of course -- but i can identify with what happened at the PT sessions I had. the residual pain following the actions done at PT was ever so strong for me as well..... i've had several spinal injections, but mine were in the lower neck in-between the shoulder blades, not the lower spine. i found them very easy to endure........because a numbing agent was used first. that part stung a tad, but it was very short-lived. i hope your pain specialist (or whoever is doing the injection) is one that uses a florescope over you -- as this 'pinpoints' the exact location rather than just placing the needle in the general area.... good luck with your decision -- do so hope you get the relief you need.
