Side-effects of supplements

I recently came across an article regarding the drug named Pennsaid that has been very effective for the pregnant ladies who are being affected with Arthritis. It also reduces the inflammatory actions. Have anyone known about this or have anytime used this for getting rid of Osteoarthritis during pregnancy? Is this supplement safe to take during pregnancy? Do they cause any side-effects?

This is a topical NSAID. As with all medications, check with your OB on safety. Also be aware that new drugs are never tested on pregnant women, so the safety of any medication is based on experience. With a new drug there is less experience available to teach us.

Then how can a pregnant lady with osteoarthritis are treated? Are there any other remedial measures to deal with it?

Most OB's allow Tylenol and NSAIDS in limited quantities. That's why I suggested checking with the doctor, who would likely approve the topical NSAID.

As of now Tylenol has not been reported to have been causing for any side-effects during birth of a baby. They do help in increasing the strength.
