What is ganglion cyst? How can it be treated and what are the ultimate consequences of it?

My sister has had one for many years. She will hit it accidently on something, it will burst, and come back later.
The doctor told her he could do something for it but there's a good chance it will return. It's harmless unless it causes you pain.

Hi, I'm usually over at the CP forum, but i saw this post and i wanted to reply. I had one of those on my wrist for years. I had one doctor try to drain it, which didn't help at all. It did finally go away when i left the job that was giving me carpal tunnel.
