Synvisc when steroids stop working?

I have basel thumb arthritis stage four in both of my thumbs - I am a painter and trying to delay the operation as long as possible...I have been having steroid injections for about 4 years. The injections have stopped working on my right thumb and am thinking of asking my doctor to try synvisc instead.

Does any one have any experience with the synvisc after the steroid injections stop working?
