Has anyone tried XIAFLEX a non invasive med. for Dupuytrens?
I have severe Dupuytrens Contracture. It's a disease where the tendons thicken in the palms to the fingers. The thickening of the tendons pull the fingers in toward the palm in a fist like position. Once the fist is formed the fingers are frozen. No movement in the fingers and it has effected three of my fingers on my right hand which are curled up in a fist type position.
There is a non invasive injection available that will break up the thickened tendons and the fingers can be straightened and the hand can be used once healed after PT. I had surgery last year to straighten my fingers, it actually made the hand flair and curl worse.
The injection is called XIAFLEX. Has any one tried this medication?
I have read about
the treatment of Xiaflex and also the side effects. I would interested to hear from anyone who has used this medication . It has been approved by the FDA since 2010, a very short time to be on the market.
If u or anyone u know are familiar with this non invasive injection medication called XIAFLEX please feel free to share UR experiences or opinions.
Thank you.
