Nebulizer Compressor question

Hi, this is my first post here!  My daughter is 5yr old and uses a nebulizer daily.  Has anyone ever had to replace their compressor?  She uses pulmicort daily, we tried Flovent, but I didnt like it, I dont think even with the spacer/chambers that it worked for her so I wanted her medicine nebulized.  Anyway, I am not sure how long she will be on pulmicort (meaning one year, 12 years, ect) and I found this really neat portable compressor with a rechargeable battery and car adapter to plug it in.  I thought this would be nice for when we travel. 

Anyway, we have a Pari Proneb ultra and have had it for 4 years, but really only the last year has it gotten frequent use.  Has anyone every prayed that something would break so you could buy a really nice version of what you already have?  Any opinions welcome, even if you think Im being silly!

I use the OMRON CompAir Elite.  I bought mine at a local pharmacy for about $100.00. I bet you could find one at a pharmacy where you live.  I did find a site so you can see what all it does.  This unit works so much faster and quieter than the older units, it is great for kids. 

 I told a friend about it a couple of years ago because she had a little boy who had to use it every morning before he went to daycare.  She said it made all the difference in the world in their mornings, she didn't have to fight with him to use the nebulizer.

It has given me a feeling of safety, knowing that I can pull over and use it in the car and not have to worry about if I can make it home before I have an asthma attack.  It truly does work much faster than the older machine I started out with.  I rarely leave home without it.

Thank you for the information.  :-)   I will definately will consider this.  The speed of use would be nice, I find I am the one impatient for it to be done rather than my daughter!  (but she would probably be glad to get us sooner too)  She is starting kindergarten this year and I had only just thought about having to make sure we have time for this medicine.

She probably would not have to use the mask, would she?  I think once you both see how quickly this nebulizer works, you will be amazed.  You can surely find it in a pharmacy near you.

no she doesnt use the mask, she is pretty good with the mouth piece. She just doesnt breath deep enough to get the spacers working I think

I have the Omron neb and it is brilliant when travelling. I have found that it has a tendency to "spit" when using pulmicort. (It sprays a little out of the top)
but otherwise great. The mouthpiece is pretty small, so I think it would be good for a child
