Asthma & Pleurisy

Hey everyone. I was just wondering if any of you with asthma have also been diagnosed with chronic pleurisy? I went to the doctors with really bad chest pains and he did an x-ray and said i had pleurisy. But then another x-ray was done months later and it was still there and so was all the pain. So he said ive got chronic pleurisy which will always be there and i wont be able to get rid of. So i was just wondering if any of you have any advice for how to deal with it and stuff because it is really painful a lot of the time. Thanks x

Have you seen a Pulmonologist about this?

I just wanted to say that I can "sort of relate". I have had bouts of Pleurisy off and on over the years but not chronically. I know that it is extremely painful at times. I was looking online for treatments and I found this:

In some cases of pleural effusion, you may need pleurodesis. During this procedure, a medicine is put into your chest cavity, which triggers an inflammatory reaction over the surface of the lung and inside the chest cavity. This in turn causes the surface of the lung to stick to the surface of the chest cavity, which prevents or reduces more fluid from building up.

Has the pulmonologist ever mentioned pleurodesis?
