Hi everyone! My name is Jennifer and I have had chronic urticaria for over two months now, with one severe case of angioedema. I have seen four doctors and I just had a very extensive blood panel today by my allergist. I have learned that chronic urticaria is rarely caused by a food or drug allergy, and in 80 percent of cases a true cause is never revealed. My mother had hives in her thirties, and after a year they just went away. I am very appreciative of the positive affirmations that someone posted. Thank you! I am doing some work with some friends through Louise Hay's workbook, "Love Yourself, Heal Your Life", and that book is filled with positive affirmations for various conditions.
The night that I had the acute attack I had taken Hylands Hives formula for the first time. I also took Ibuprofen for the first time in a few weeks and had dental work where they put an anti-biotic in my gum.
This all started after I had an illness, fever and sweats and chills and I just haven't been the same since. But there are other factors that make trying to resolve this tricky. I was in a medical study for a medication to treat toenail fungus, ( which I have since dropped out of about
5 weeks ago). I also had my house fumigated for termites and painted in February. The doctors think that anti-fungal medicine would definitely be out of my system by now, but I am not convinced of that.
Anyway, dealing with this has caused so much anxiety and self image issues. I feel worn down and just want it to be over with. I am glad I found this forum, it is my first experience in this type of online community. I am glad you are all here
