I've had Allergies to something (s) for a long while,yet can't figure out to what.about concluded I'm Allergic to my Cat.When she licks or bites at me,I itch.I experience itchy and red Eyes,itchy Nose,Nasal congestion,Sneezing,difficulty Breathing,scratchy Throat and itchy Skin.For Years,I have had chronic Sinus and Ear problems.I scheduled an Appointment with an ENT and Allergist,so am keeping Fingers crossed that he will figure out what's going on.

Cat allergies are very common. My husband, my son and my daughter are all allergic to cats. Good luck at the doctors office.

I Adopted my Cat in 2001,but it didn't "hit" me until recently that I might be Allergic to her.

If you get tested for allergies and find that you are allergic to cats, there are a couple of things you can try to help yourself cope. You can try to get the allergy shots, though this is a long term commitment and requires many injections. You can also try bathing your kitty in a special allergen shampoo that you can find at a pet store - cat's do NOT like water though and it can be a bit tough for the cat AND you. If you have any rugs, be sure to wash them frequently. Keep the cat out of your bedroom and clean your room thoroughly to rid the cat hair - make your bedroom the "safe" room. Vacuum (with a hepa filter) daily - carpet and furniture. Use an allergen spray such as Frebreeze with allergen control. To make an allergy free home takes alot of time and commitment but if you love the cat then it may be worth it.

Edited to add: Cat allergies are from the animal dander and saliva - it's not actually the hair itself. But the hair is coated with dander and saliva, so get rid of the hair around the house and it can make things easier to deal with.

Don't forget to get an air cleaner with hepa filter.

I love her very much,but think it's best I find a good loving Home with a trustworthy Person who will love and take good care of her.When I return to University,I won't have time to do all the extra House Work..she goes in EVERY Room of the House..I have a Bagless Vacuum Cleaner,and it "spits" out what I Vacuum up..no doubt it's Cat Hair stuck inside,so I must take outside,remove the bottom and use a Clothes hanger to dig it out..right now,I don't have extra Money to buy a Vacuum Cleaner with a HEPA Filter..

Aw. I'm sorry you have to find her a new home. I'd take her but I have too many right now anyway. Three's a crowd. Good luck in finding a good place for her.

Thank you,but you probably live a great distance from me anyway.She creates a lot of extra Work..2 examples: 1) Vacuuming..I have a Bagless Vacuum Cleaner.I empty and wash the Container,then soak and wash the Filters.I also have to remove the bottom to "dig" out Cat Hair.If I don't,it "spits" out what I Vacuum up from the Carpets,which irritates my Allergies..2) She lays in the Window sills and against the Curtains,so I have to wash Curtains more often..the Sheet-rock in my Walls isn't sturdy,so when I take Curtains down,it is hard to put them back up.Having a "cramped" Utility Room,I have to stretch to remove Cat Hair from my Washing Machine..

Fortunately, I have curtain toppers and heavy blinds. I have one window just for the cats. They have a special platform and I raise the blinds for them. I bought a special mat for them to lay on that grabs the loose hairs and I throw it into my washer. I have hardwood floors through out my house except the living room and two bedrooms that I don't go in. I throw a fleece blanket over my bed for when they climb on (it grabs hair, too).
