Sinus/allergy question?

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to this forum and I was hoping on some advice on how to get off reactin and nasonex nose spray. I have been taking them both everyday for at least 5 years now to help deal with year round allergies/sinusitis issues. Everytime I try to wean off them I suffer for it.

Is there any natural alternative that will replace reactin and nasonex that has helped any of you?

My symtoms are aching face and teeth constantly (the above meds help take the edge off only). And when I'm really bad I get sinus headaches and discomfort throughout my entire body.

Have you've been checked for a severe sinus infection?
I have an extra chamber in my sinuses that has a small opening going into the main chamber. It is prone to getting infection in it and since there's a small place for drainage the sinus infection is extra hard to get rid of.

I started using patenase spray for my sinuses and it does better than nasonex. Maybe your doctor can switch to it?

Thanks for your quick reply! No I haven't seen a ENT in few years but I am awaiting a call from my doctor on a date to see an ENT again.

Your right...I never thought that  maybe changing the nasal spray might make a difference. I'll ask that when I see the ENT....thx for the tip.

I agree that a good allergist is in order. I would also check the message boards for info on the nasal sprays. There are some (not the one's you've been on) that have scary issues for some people. I know one friend who needed sinus surgery--not fun, but it seems to have solved the problem. You may have a bigger issue like that.
