Last Christmas on vacation my husband and son discovered how bad I was snoring. They let me know by recording it! I had no idea. Then I noticed was waking up and gagging, or snorting...that would wake me up. Did a take home sleep test, showed mild apnea, so I;m on a CPAP. I can't keep it on all night, but when it is on, it helps. But I can tell now that my problem is probably not sleep apnea, but post nasal drip, because sometimes when i am laying on my back without the CPAP the noise will come out of my throat, and sometimes I can make it do it. My doctor put me on a steroid nasal spray which did nothing. I'm wondering if there could be something causing this drainage that I could stop...the doctor checked my throat and I do have drainage. Is there anything else that can be done? Anything to ask him to check? BTW, I don't have any upper sinuses, just the ones below the eyes. Thanks for any suggestions. I would love to get rid of the CPAP!
Also, I don't have congestion. I don't cough up anything or have to blow my nose...I can feel the stuff in my throat though.
