Thanks, I hope you feel better soon! Maybe you could see an allergist again... that might be my next step. I'd also recommend taking supplements like garlic, ginger, milk thistle, and burdock root because they help detoxify the body. The diet part is the worst... I'm still eating bread and pasta even though I shouldn't be, but those are the main things I like and am able to eat right now. I have tried to avoid refined sugar for the most part, though.
I actually never had much of the congestion, coughing, etc. that most people with mold exposure have which is why my doctors have been reluctant to believe that's what it is, but I did have slightly worse seasonal allergies than usual this year and everybody reacts differently to different things.
As of now, my stomach issues seem to be a lot better but the anxiety is worse. I feel like my heart is pounding/skipping beats a lot and I still have moments where I feel like I can't breathe. The worst part about
it is it makes me scared to drive long distances so I'm stuck at home. I've been taking hydroxyzine for anxiety which seems to help, and it's also an antihistamine so that's a bonus. I actually like it a lot better than Xanax.
This whole thing is tough because I still have no idea if it actually is mold exposure that made me sick. But I was never sick in my life until I moved into that apartment so I really don't see what else it could be. My boyfriend told me that he had to throw out our cat's food because it molded and that tells me that it's humid in the house and a good breeding ground for mold... I feel like I sound crazy but when you get a mystery illness with symptoms that don't match anything at 21 years old, and all your tests come back normal, you really start to consider all the possibilities!
