exercise induced allergies/anaphylaxis

I was recently diagnosed with exercise induced anaphylaxis and I'm wondering if anyone else out there also has this condition.  The problem is that now, I am afraid to exercise (even though I like to be active) and am afraid of having an anaphylactic reaction.  Does anyone have advice on how to prevent the anaphylaxis or get over the fear of having a reaction?

Yes I have this too. Gosh this is an old post....
Terrifying, I can't go out even for a coffee and cake, I will go into shock, blood pressure drops, chest is horribly tight, heart rate goes off scale. I have been rushed to hospital so many times, but once they find out it is not a heart attack, they loose interest. Then it was diagnosed as Arterial Fib. But I know it only happens when I eat then walk after, or do any little excercise, even lifting. things.
Anyone shed any light here please. Or tell me what is hapening to my body, so that I can get to the bottom of it.
I have other allergies also. But they are too complicated to risk eating out at any time in case I am rushed to hospital yet again. Then discharged.

We are not drs but hopefully someone will come along soon that can share their experience. But has your dr put you thru any sort of testing? Is your bp naturally low to begin with?

My BP is usually normal range.  I don't know whether there are tests for EIA.  So far I have not had a doc. or hospital even admit it exists !!!

I try to avoid foods that possibly bring it on,  i.e. wheat, yeast, Modified starges,  WHEY,  fermented anything.

This sounds awful, scary too. Does it only happen when you're outside? A friend of mine had similar problems, though not as severe and it turned out she was allergic to tree pollens. I don't know if doctors routinely test for this kind of thing though, I think she ended up ordering a test online, this kind of thing... www.healthtestingcenters.com/allergy-testing.aspx. I think that doctors don't see enough cases of EIA to know much about it, but I remember reading somewhere about certain foods being the trigger, they're fine just in your stomach but then any kind of exercise moves them around a bit and releases something to starts the reaction?

No it happens indoors or out, usually if I eat then "move".  I have had all sorts of tests privately,   you more or less know what your reacting to.  That's not the problem.   It's stopping it happening that's the problem.  No test will tell you that.......  I have to avoid things I'm allergic to in other peoples foods, or supermarket foods.   Which I avoid anyway.   But it does isolate you,  from visiting places, other peoples homes, etc.  I also am highly allergic to perfumes and room sprays etc.

Although in a strange way I know my body is just protecting me,  whereas most people just go on eating chemically enhanced wheat, foods etc and breathing in obnoxious chemicals.

It sounds so limiting, I can't imagine.
But yes, your body is just working harder than everyone else's at protecting you.
I just had a look at this online and there doesn't seem to be much information about it, they basically say to avoid exercise, but you need to still move around.
