Hey everyone. I had a runny nose and a cough for a while...now I just feel like I have phlegm stuck in my throat and right above my lungs...I try to cough but it seems so thick sometimes.....When I swallow hard it seems to produce more phlegm like behind my nose..and then it gets stuck again. Is this allergies? Thanks! I have tried a nasal spray and like 3 different allergy medicines..how long does it take for allergy meds to kick in?

Thick phlegm stuck in your throat does sound like allergies, but it could be left over from a cold also. I suggest sleeping with a humidifier in your room, drinking a LOT of liquids, hot or cold, and perhaps getting a sinus wash from the drugstore to help clean out whatever's brewing in your sinuses.

Your anatomy is probably not perfectly symmetric - none of us is. I know for me my right sinuses are always more full than my left. My right ear rings, my left ear is fine. Just the way we are made.
