Welcome to the forum, huie.
Are you sure it's a cold and not a sinus infection? Are you seeing a doctor for this?
I have an ENT who usually does not diagnose my frequent sinus infections. It has to get to the point where it shows up on an MRI or CT, and then he does treat it very well, except that I don't tolerate the medicine very well.
Sinus infections are hard to treat because there is very little blood circulation in the sinuses. That makes it hard to get medicine to the area of infection.
Now I just see my PCP when an infection starts getting to my throat and lungs. I treat myself mostly with sinus washes, which gives pretty good pain relief. Sometimes I use one of the sprays or inhalers my allergist prescribed, for just a couple of days. The sprays relieve congestion and swelling, which often helps the infection clear by itself.
If you are really getting colds - virus infections - you might ask about immune testing. Something isn't right if you are constantly getting viruses.
