My main problem is that when I take betaine hcl for an extended period of time, I experience asthmatic symptoms when I wake up in the morning such as wheezing and shortness of breath. I also remember when I was very young, I had asthma and ear infections, which I believe are symptoms of silent reflux. So if taking betaine hcl causes silent reflux symptoms, why does it happen to cause asthma like symptoms? I don't experience stomach burning because I do not take excessive amounts of hcl.
One important thing to mention is my thrush ( white coating) on tongue starts to go away when I take the hcl and my mental clarity becomes outstanding, which means nutrients are properly being absorbed and my stools also appear normal.
Is this a possible hiatal hernia?
