Diagnosed with allergy induced vertigo

I am having my first battle with vertigo and my doctor and my PT both ran tests and both came up negative, but I have vertigo. After reading all your info I am sure that it is my allergies that are causing vertigo. I was in AZ for a week and all symptoms went away (allergies too!). Now that I have returned to WI all are back with a vengeance UGH! EPLEY maneuver has not been helping, now that I have read all your VERY helpful threads I feel I have a better vantage point. I have been a life long asthma sufferer (managed) I have developed allergies in the last 10 years even though I tested negative for major allergens I am clearly effected by mold issues not so much pollen (hence the relief in AZ...DRY). I take Sudafed, Allegra, Flonase, nasal flush already. I do not take an Anti-inflammatory and am looking forward to trying Fenugreek. From the bottom of my heart than you for sharing!

I'm late (only by a few years!) to this thread but just would like to say thank you for all of your posts in case anyone is still following it, because I was beginning to get a little frantic - I'm going through vertigo now. Dizzy, wild spinning if I look down or turn a certain way - accompanied by a full feeling in my ears and neck and tingly feeling in my lower back of head, as well as pain (sometimes) in my left ear. ENT doc did not find any fluid in my ears.

After reading Sandrahok's post, I feel grateful that mine is not as bad. I recently ended up one entire night with Sandrahok's description of "Tilt-a-whirl" on steroids - spinning so fast you can't move and vomiting until nothing is left". I can't imagine having this on a daily basis. It was really frightening. Previously I've had what I presume to be the Benign Positional Vertigo BPPV because when I'd turn a certain way, the wild spinning would begin and I'd brace myself, but it would always subside within a minute or two. Epley maneuvers at home would do the trick and I'd be fine for months.

I have lived in N. Texas for 30 years and never experienced allergies, considering myself one of the few lucky ones in this area! August isn't considered allergy season but this current episode began 2 weeks ago with a "tilt-a-whirl" night and since then I've never gotten back to normal. I saw an ENT who did not find any fluid in my ears and did the Epley maneuver. This time I didn't feel the spinning as in the past - although I did feel better for a whole afternoon following the maneuver. I also went to the E.R. one day and they did a CT scan of my head which was normal. Bloodwork showed inflammation markers, but I have Lyme disease and this is "normal" for those of us infected by Lyme bacteria. I am waiting to see a new ENT because mine does not have the equipment to do further testing. He recommends the VNG testing for vertigo which I hope to have done soon. Oh - and my ENT did mention that the Lyme bacteria could be causing some venous insufficiency (blood flow restricted) around the ears/brain and this could be a contributing factor.

All that I've tried so far is Bonine (Meclazine) and low-dose Valium prescribed by my ENT. Both help, but both make me drowzy and the vertigo returns the next day. Also can't drive or do much of anything - frustrating.

I'm wondering if it could be allergies even though I apparently have no fluid in the ears? - I'll be requesting the Sudafed from my doctor after reading these posts and also trying Fenugreek as well. I bought and started taking Butcher's Broom...not too sure if I notice any difference with it, but will post again if I do.

Any suggestions are welcome - thank you again for sharing your experiences - it really helps!
