Hi Jerry & welcome to Healing Well. No, there is not a cure for asthma. However, the goal is to keep it under control with medication. This is why it is important that your mother continue under the care of her dr. New medications keep coming out to treat various conditions.
You may want to go to MayoClinic.com & type in asthma. They have excellent information about asthma & treatment for it. Hopefully your mother's medication will continue working well for her. Take care.

Hello Jerry,
There is no cure for asthma. If she is having some issues, I would suggest going back to the doctor and mentioning it. She may be able to control her asthma with a different medication. Again, speak to her doctor. If you feel they aren't helping you can always seek a second opinion.
I was diagnosed when I was in my early 20's (29 now) and it took me a few years and a few doctors to get mine under control. I have allergy induced asthma, and an allergy specialist was what helped me. Everyone is different though.
