Hi everyone,

I use an albuterol inhaler and it hasnt given me the results i want it to I am taking it at least 2 times a day. My docter said that my asthma wasn't controlled and I know that but I was wondering if anyone has any other medications for EIA(exercize induced asthma)and how it workes for you. I really hope you are doing well and if you have any questions well just ask away

I also have an inhaler, but I also take singular everynight before bed.  It has helped my asthma a great deal and has helped me to have to use my inhaler as much.  Pollen is also a huge trigger of mine and in the fall and spring I use an advair inhaler as well.

My son has recently added Albuterol to his Allegra and Nasonex. He was coughing a lot especially after he ran track in school and since Allegra and Nasonex wasn't completely ridding him of his coughing, I felt it warranted another trip to his doc. The doc said he has seasonal asthma on top of his allergies and even though he still coughs, it's not nearly as bad as it was before. It got to a point where he was coughing and didn't even know he was coughing. He takes his every 4 -6 hours as needed and carries one with him at school as well.

I use Combivent plus Singulair at nite.................Works great for me......

I use albuterol, serevent and Qvar.   I was taking singulair but didn't notice a difference with it.  I have adult onset asthma, which they are saying I have COPD. I am 49 and acquired asthma at age 30.  I know my cousin who is a year older then me and her son who is 17 both suffer with asthma too.  After years of suffering with only the albuterol, they have now given her flovent to use along with the rescue inhaler.  So it may take a longer acting inhaler to help.

is salbutamol/ventolin the same as albuterol cuz i use that with a large volume spacer for asthma attacks and on its own 2 puffs 15 mins before exercise and it works brilliantly

Nebulizer treatments worked for me (Xopenex). I Had a ruptured tendon in my foot and was laid up for 3 weeks in a cast, then had physical therapy 1st session was easy. 2nd session was intense and I was at my doctor who then prescribed nebulizer treatments before each PT session, However after the 10 session of PT I was at my doctor again because the sessions of PT had gotten even more intense. ended up using the nebulizer before and after each Physical Therapy(PT) session. My foot is doing better but I'm not yet in my shoes full time. Xopenex now comes in an rescue inhaler, ask your doctor about Xopenex. scool

Hi,

My son has used Flovent, Singulair, Loratidine (Clariten) and Albuterol.  The combo of the first three has kept him from needing the albuterol.  He is doing great.  I have a question- does anyone know the difference between Albuterol USP and Albuterol Sulfate HFA?  The doc recently wrote the HFA script and I didn't pay attention to it until I filled it and noticed the box was different.  I can contact the doc tomorrow, but was hoping to have an answer tonight.  Can anyone help?

I couldn't find a difference between the two other then one may be generic?  Here are the websites so you can see both and compare the two.

The HFA inhaler is environmentally friendly no aresol propellent that is the only difference. no more ozone pollution. scool
