Hi, I'm a new to this site & have found it very interesting! I am so confused & feel helpless. I have a 10 year old daughter who has been very healthy in the past but as of August this year has had many illnesses. It started with a sore throat, runny nose, felt acky & had a low grade fever (99.5 - 100.4) so no antibiotic was given. A couple days later she had an ear infection & was treated with an antibiotic and was fine afterwards. The next week she then started wheezing, coughing, felt achy & had a low grade fever. We were told by the Dr. that she had bronchitis & was given an antibiotic. We went for a follow up visit & her lungs were clear. The following week the cough returned & the Dr. gave her an albuterol inhaler. She used it 3 times a day. In school she went to use the inhaler and the school nurse listened to her lungs & took her temp. 100.2 she was concerned, called me and I left to pick her up. On the way the nurse called me again & said she called 911. She was taken to the emergency room, given 3 albuterol nebulizer treatments, steroids, & an antibiotic. The follow up visit to our Dr. showed she was still wheezing and was given a nebulizer to bring home to use 3 times a day & another antibiotic.
My husband & I were concerned she didn't feel better & was still wheezing after a week & had a low grade fever on & off of 99.5-100.4, she's been complaining of headaches, and stomachaches (I'm thinking it's all the medicine?) Every time we try to send my daughter to school I'm called by the nurse saying she's wheezing & has a low grade temp. We decided to take her to a pulmanary Dr. We told him we were concerned that she has been having a low grade fevers for the last month, complaining of headaches, stomachaches, sore throat, & stuffy noise & has been making loud breathing soulds every second. We were told that she had a sinuses & was told that she had a low grade fever, sore thoat ....... from that. The Dr. ordered a CT scan (he thought sinusitis) & it showed that she was clear. She still has low grade fevers, a stuffy noise & headaches, could that be because of the asthma? I think I should take her to the Allergist? Please help!
