has anyone ever coughed for this long

Are you having chest tightness too? Do you have a urgent care clinic you could go to? What doctors do you see and what meds are you taking?

I take Singulair, Asmanex, Xopenex as needed, Xopenex nebulizer as needed, astelin, clarinex, a saline nasal spray, Zantac (and a tylenol 3 every 5 hours for horrible back pain) and just came off prednisone.(honestly sometimes it's so hard to remember and I have it on the computer a list of what to take and when kinda makes it easier lol).

I also like drinking teas, just a suggestion have you tried drinking a warm beverage?
I would suggest that you possibly consider going to an urgent care clinic if you can get checked out and have your mind at ease.

I go to the doctor when I can't stop coughing because I get pnemonia so easy. I've had pneumonia 3 times before I turned 18 years old, Last time there were 3 black spots on my lungs. and I've never smoked!!!

If your cough is producing yellow/green sputum, you may have a chest infection and should get checked out in case you need an antibiotic to clear it.  Sometimes, even without infection, I find that the mucous is so sticky that it is difficult to clear.  I am on Visclair (a mucolytic) which makes it much easier to clear my chest and I also use a flutter device after my nebulisers which helps a lot.  A good way to clear your chest without such devices is to "huff" rather than cough for as long as possible, then cough the last little bit.  I don't know how to explain it more clearly, but it tires you out less and is more effective.  I hope this helps.

Ive coughed  for over 12 months morning noon and night since undergoing surgery for galllbladder removal.

No matter what I take there is no improvement. Antibiotics, oral and inhaled steroids (Ive been on Pulmicort, Flixotide, Symbicort, Prednisone and Singulair) I am now being treated for GERD and post nasal drip as well as asthma but I am still the same.

Ive had every investigation possiblle over the last year - including CT scans of chest and sinus, chest xrays, blood, sputum and allergy tests, a broncoscophy, a biopsy, a nasal endoscopy, tests for fibrositis of the lungs and lung function tests. All negative exept to show mild asthma.

I wheeze and cough continually and bring up greeny yellow mucus all the time. Ive been told there is no infection and nothing more they can do.

I try and keep positive but it is hard. I dread the winter and the thought of getting a cold or chest infection on top of this!! I wish you well and hope you have better luck than me at controlling your symptoms.
