Hello all, I am just really wandering what medication everyone that comes into this chat forum is currently using and for what specific symptoms.  Thats all!!!  Juanno smurf

pulmicort 400 mcgs, singulair 10mgs and albuterol as needed which is pretty much everyday, thought about asking about advair, i hear such great things about it.

my symptoms: chest tightness (sitting elephant syndrome) and wheeze and wheeze and wheeze and wheeze. I don't cough unless I'm sick and then I cough up a whole lung for months at a time.

:-) Hi Everyone! My medications are Advair Diskus 500/50 1 puff every 12 hours (dry power).
Albuterol inhaler as needed. Nasonex (nasal congestion)

Symptoms: chest tightness, (someone sitting on my chest) occassional wheeze, cough. trouble getting air in and out.

Yes, I personally recommend Advair Diskus medication. It works great. Best anti-inflammatory medication for my asthma I have ever been on. I won't ever go off of Advair it works that good for me. Fewer asthma episodes. If I do have them there not as bad, as before. Best Wishes! Brandi.

I use the following meds for asthma and allergies
Asmanex
Singulair
Astelin
a Saline Nasal spray
Xopenex as needed (better than albuterol)
and Clarinex
I cannot use nor recommend the advair disk, (it makes me cough and I used it correctly) Sorry

I am on the adivair disk and the albteral every 4hr except pm then I can go 5to6urs.

I have had some bad attacks i am having to do alot to get back, seems like a bad fall>winter for alot of us.

I can say that with all the allergies I have, I do not have Asthma as bad as most people do. I get the wheezing, but at a small amount. I take only my allergu shots and a nasal mist to lubricate so I dont dry out. and besides that the occassionaly tylenol for muscle pain and tightness.

I take everything listed below, plus on and off prednisolone. I have brittle asthma, depression and nerve pain due to an injury and subsequent op two years ago.

Advair 250/50 1 puff every 12 hrs
Spiriva 1 puff once a day.
Albuterol MDI as needed
Have had 1 round of steroids
3 depomedrol shots

Not sure if I have asthma (on 4th dr and he isn't sure as to waht is wrong with me). My main symptom is cough (been coughing for 2 years) with occasional wheeze, shortness of breath. Strong scents set me off. Can be a goopy cough at times. Started Spirvia about 3 weeks ago and it seems to be making the biggest difference for me. Still coughing just not as much.

Have also been on the following in the last 2 years:
Reglan 5mg, Nexium, Protonix - Thought I had reflux
Singulair
Zytrec

Dear Lyonheart:  I noticed you take Atrovent 3 xday; have you tried Spiriva?  Atrovent has peaks and valleys, so your body does not have a continuous ability to stay open; Spiriva works for 24 hrs, so your body does not experience the peaks and valleys.  It's a dry powder inhaler.  I've worked w/lots of pts that have experienced good results with this med; also one med you don't have to worry about except once a day -- AM best time to take it.

Also, Xopenex now comes in a MDI form (still need aerochamber to receive correct doseage).  Ck w/insurance to see if they will pay for it.  As a resp therapist, I think it's one of the best advances in asthma management. yeah

Dear PegLeg, I went into surgery once with low oxygen reading, they got me back up but wandered how I know if my oxgen is low again. I always wandered about that. If I am making sence?
