Eye allergie symptoms

 eye watters my white part in my eye gets very red like bllood shot they itch like crazy the watery fluid is kind of gel lik eand my eye feels swollen

Grace,

I would recommend that you see your eye doctor, your primary care physician or an allergist.  They do have several different drops available if it is just allergy related, but you need to rule out that there is not anything else going on.  Remember, we are not medical professionals, just volunteers.  If you wear contacts, I would take them out and wear your glasses until you see a doctor.  I know that's no fun.

Please let us know what you find out.

Ok thanks for the advice I have been seeing a doctor for a long time and they think its allergies and I think so to but I started breaking out in certain spots after I held my dog and I would get the same thing would happen to my eye so I am thinking its dogs and cats. I will let you know.

My eyes are very often red...it is part of my "allergic problem". I also have a motor nose. Though it sounds kind of funny it means my nose reacts to many different things...pollution, allergens, etc. I have more or less lost my sense of smell. I have had allergies for a very long time and had allergy shots for over 15 years. The shots helped a great deal.

i bet it's cat or dog allergy. I've never been allergic to either of them but since i've been staying with my daughter and her 2 cats i've been getting very itchy watery eyes, especially after i touch the cats. I try to keep my hands away from my eyes but sometimes i forget :-) I have to keep my bedroom door shut so the cats can't go in there because i was also getting worse asthma at night when there was cat hair on my quilt.

It's funny how allergies can develop after years of contact with something.

I think its dog or cat allergies to but my dogs and cat are outside and barly eever touch the cat but i dont know...well thanks for the advice

this might seem primitive but I use baggies of rice and stick them in the freezer and them use a thin towel (like a dish towel) and put that on my face and put the baggies on my eyes. I read about it in one of my health insurance books and really found it to be very effective. Take care of yourself.

It sounds like it would work just as well as the jell type things you freeze, which I threw away when I moved.  I think I will stick some rice in a baggie and put it in th freezer just to have on hand.  So you see, we do learn a lot from each other here on HealingWell.  Thanks for the tip.  I would not have thought of it in a million years.
