Mia,
Is the Flovent he gave you another inhaler? If so, is it something you are supposed to use on a regular basis as a controller medication, not just when you are sick? The reason I ask, is because it sounds to me that you need to be on on a controller medication.
I'm having a terrible flair with my asthma, bronchitis right now, so bear with me, my memory is not so good. I can not remember if you are seeing a pulmonologist, allergist or your PCP. In my opinion, allergist do the best job of treating asthma because most of the time your allergies and asthma are linked to each other. I had allergies many years before I had asthma. You have been very sick and I just want to see that you get the proper care you need.
Has anyone given you a peak flow meter and showed you your personal best peak flow, your in between and when it is time to seek help, such as going to the ER? Most allergists give them to you free of charge and I would imagine pulmonologists would also. If not, they probably would only cost between $5.00 - $10.00.
Hugs!
Carla
