Never had this happen before

Well first off my allergies and sinuses have been horrible...I actually had an earache last night. But all day to day I was short of breath. I would take my albuterol and be fine for a couple of hours and it was come right back. Is this the beginning of something or what. I have never had this happen. Usually when I use my rescue inhaler it stops it.

I take Benadryl at night for my allergies and Tylenol Allergy and Sinus during the day. As for my asthma all I have is my Albuterol inhaler.

So I take it that the repeated shortness of breath was the start of an asthma attack? When I woke up this morning I was not short of breath but any physical activity I start to feel short of breath and emotions such as laughing brings on coughing.

I have Exercise Induced asthma and wondering if I have the cough variant kind also b/c I frequently cough especially at night and/or after laughing or any strong emotions and I have a LOT of chest tightness! The only time I have experienced shortness of breath was after exercise and it would go away after a lil while after using my inhaler. So when I had the shortness of breath all day it was worring me a lil bit, but I will talk to my doctor about it. Thank you so much for the help

Have you been sick? If you have a bug in your system it can sometimes add to that. If you have allergies it can be that your total allergy load got too high. It is that season. Try to look for triggers if you can. Also food sensitivity can cause shortness of breath and other things unrelated to asthma can, so always see your doctor if it continues. It's a bad allergy season this year.

Im still have the same problems :( its been a rough week! I have been so tired...I didnt realize how tired asthma can make u. But I did finally get an appt. with my Doctor for next Thursday morning.

I used to sneeze and cough in the mornings until I got clean air. You could also check out the air in your home. This could be partly due allergens, especially dust mites which triggers your asthma.  Having obeyed all doctor's orders, if this condition persist you could get a water based filtration System -Hyla that not only clean the air in your home but does the same with your carpet, sofa and every other thing that requires cleaning. **I took out your website since that is against forum rules** I hope you feel better.

Yes it has been a bad allergy season already. My allergies have not been this bad in a few years. I use to live out in the country and my allergies were horrible but then we moved into town and our new house has no carpet in it and we dont allow the cat inside anymore and my allergies improved 75% but this year its been horrible...i feel like im back out in the country lol. And before when my allergies were bad I didnt have asthma...I was just diagnosed last year so i have never experienced asthma and allergies like I am this year.

These past 2 weeks have been horrible. One day im fine the next day my allergies go crazy then I cant breath with my asthma and its wearing me out. And I cant do any activities b/c I get short of breath so fast, even when we get busy at work and im running around i get short of breath and chest tightness and its aggervating. Im a very active person and always on the go...I like to go running and i have not been able to do anything and im so tired that I have slept more these past 2 weeks then I ever do.

This morning I woke up with an instant headache and I was a lil short of breath and I had slept for 10 hrs but I woke up exhausted...i just felt so drained and then this afternoon at work my chest got really tight. When any of this happens I take my albuterol but it only seems to help for a lil while and it comes back. Im ready to see the Doc. and get this resolved. Im tired of being tired...and not being able to do what I want and breath.

Well I just got back from my Doctors appt. He put me on a Flovent 110mcg. He said that all the chest tightness and everything is from inflammation. So its gonna take a couple of weeks for this medication to take affect but hopefully it will work and I will start to feel better. Has anyone else taken Flovent? Is there anything I need to know about it? Im not really familiar with asthma meds other than albuterol.

I am seeing a pulmonologiest and he gave me Flovent as a controller medication. He remembered me from the last time I saw him and when I explained my symtoms to him and how long it had been going on he decided that I need something for inflammation. He did recognize that my allergies are playing a part in my flair ups so thats why he put me on the med. I also explained they I was unable to do my daily running even with taking albuterol 15-20mins before exercise and when I did try to run I ended up very short of breath and wheezing and that I was not sleeping at night due to coughing. So im hoping this helps b/c im just so worn out from all of this. He did tell me it would be a couple of weeks before i noticed a difference. I have had allergies since I was young and I was just diagnosed last year with asthma. (Im 23)

I do have a peak flow meter that I was given when I was diagnosed last year. The pulmonary doctor did have me record my reading for 2 weeks and I ranged from 320-400. Now on really good days I can get up to about 450 but on average its 400 and I think thats due to constant inflammation b/c I have chest tightness almost everyday.  But i was not told when I needed to seek medical attention.

So im still trying to figure all this out and its nice to have people to talk to that are going through the same thing. My parents dont really understand what asthma is or what goes on. They think i just make this stuff up so I dont go to them when im having problems and I dont complain about not feeling well....I just keep it to myself b/c they dont believe me.
