Rattling in my chest and burning in my lungs

 For the last few months I have been having a rattling in my chest. It does not happen all of the time. But I can tell it is in my right lung. Sometimes when I take a deep breath I have a real sharp pain goes thru the right side of my chest to my back and after the breath the pain is over. I also have a burning in my chest at times like I have been breathing freezing cold air or running for a while. I have also been short of breath. I have sang in our church for years and have had no problem being short winded but now I get short of breath after about 2 lines. And sometimes my whole chest hurts and I don't know how to describe the pain. A friend of mine is a Respatory Therapist and she game some Xophenix and another type of the same thing to use in a breathing machine together. I did that and did get better for about a week and now I am back to the rattle in my chest. And I cough but do not have a cold. Can anyone tell me what this is or have any ideas. I would appreciate it.

No I have never smoked..And that is why I am so puzzled about this..If I was sick a lot I might could understand but I feel fine most of the time and do not have a cold or any sinus problems. But the rattle that I feel is mostly nerve racking and worries me a lot. I have had a few people in my family die with lung cancer. I don't know if i should start with a regular MD or go to a lung DR.

Thank you for your help..Today has been the worst day so far. The rattling is with every breath in and out instead of just inhaling. I have listened to my lungs with a stethescope and at the end of a breath it is a squeeking sound..Like something being closed off. It feels like a rattle inside but it doesn't sound like a rattle. I don't have asthma or any health problems that i know of..But i did take a breathing treatment a couple of weeks ago when i was having trouble and it helped. i didn't have any more trouble for a week and then i noticed the rattle a couple times a day the first day or so then gradually has gotten to today. And i can't cough up anything.
