Prednisone and facial hair... HELP!!

Hello all. I am a female and I was taking prednisone for about 3 weeks for severe allergic reaction. As I was finishing my pred I began to notice hair on my cheeks and chin. It is growing where a man would grow a beard!! I have been off of the pred for about 2 weeks but the hair is still there My doc says it will start to fall out and go away fairly quickly now that I have stopped taking the meds. Does anyone know if this is true? If so, how long does it take before the hair falls out? I am going crazy over this!! Thank you all for your help!

I don't know about facial hair as a result of predisone but I do know about facial hair. I've been sprouting since about 25 and it has been getting more severe as years go by. There is a product called Vaniqua. It's a cream that you rub on the area. It makes the hairs thinner and grow more slowly. It does work. Unfortunately, it cost $75 a tube. It is a very small tube but it last a long time. With waxing all you are doing is promoting more of the same. Trust me....I use tweezers on the ones that are very visable.

I'm new to this forum.

I'm currently taking prednisone for a severe allergic reaction to sunscreen.  Has anyone had any menstrual issues from taking prednisone?  It's only been 2 weeks since my last period and I've started again yesterday.  I'm also taking Hydroxyzine.  Is getting my period again normal being on this medication?
