At what age were you diagnosed with asthma? My son has had asthma since he was 2 years old and it was pretty bad at times. But as he is getting older (he's 18 now), he doesn't seem to have that much of an issue. But if you are on maintainance meds for your asthma, this can help prevent attacks which it may seem that you are doing better - better controlled kind of thing. Well whatever the reason, I am glad you are doing much better now!
