Meds not working!

My medications don't seem to be working that well. My doc put me on advair 250/50 and 10 mg of singulair. She gave me a rescue inhaler that I need several times a week. last week, she did the air flow test and said I wasn't doing any worse and that she thought the meds were working. I went there because I didn't think t hey were working. Today was a really bad day. Any thoughts about this? I am new to asthma. Three years ago we moved to a town where the pollution is really bad and I also think the building I work in is toxic. They just renovated this really old building and the outgassing from the floors and paint seems really bad. Any suggestions for me? It seems the asthma came about not long after we moved into this newly renovated building. It's also closer to the pollution sources!!!

The first week in there, we all had headaches. They often make these buildings so airtight that it makes things worse. I hope they up my meds!

Thanks Judy, I am going to check into it. Several of us have been bothered by it. The building has very little in the way of ventilation from outside doors, so the outgassing is awful from the varnish on the floors.
