Hi everyone, I have been dxed with  a sinus infection . dr prescribed me antibotic and flonase . How long does it take to kick in ? Im feeling terrible. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks.

You should see some positive results in a couple days hopefully . If you finish your course of antibiotics and you are still feeling horrible, you should make a return trip to your doctors.

ok thanks red. I just started the antibotics and flonase yesterday . I was thinking it might be earlier for it to kick in.

Naw, it will take two to three days to start feeling right. Be patience and rest.

Well,it has been 3 days and the antibotics is finally kicking in and I am starting to feel better. thanks for the advice.

That's great to hear :) I'm glad you are starting to feel better. Sinus infections are the pits!

Hi. None of my business and I might be letting my own recent adventures color my opinion here. But I am wondering what other paths you investigated or tried? I am starting to believe the friends who have in the past advised me to look to "other" options first, before meds. Neti pot, humidifiers, changes in diet, etc. Even in the treatment of CHRONIC sinusitis -- it used to be that surgery was the only answer but balloon sinuplasty and others have added to the list of viable options.
ANyways, just thought's I'd chime in. Best of luck to you, I hope you feel better soon.

I have sinus surgery 2 year ago only last 1 year or 2. I have tried the natural sinus rinses. It didnt work. I take benadryl at night and zyrtec during the day. so I tried all options before antibotics. I was sick for over a week before I sought the drs help with having sinus headaches everyday that nothing would make it go away and sneezing and nasal congestion with green mucus coming out of nose and severe earache. with sinus pressure. so I tried all options before antibotics.Thanks for your advice though. also sinus drainage in my throat from sinuses with sore throat.

I thought it was all gravity. The problem starts in the sinuses, becomes so much it dumps down to the bronchi. Of course with wide spread viral infection it can be anywhere.
