Cough Variant Asthma

Hello, I Logged on to view a post that is 3 years old on this subject. I have been coughing every winter (CT) for 6 years. The descriptions of triggers and medications all sounded familiar. Even the one that questioned surgery as a trigger was familiar. unfortunately no one has relief. Is there anyone that has found relief from this constant cough. Smoke, dust, common cold are my worst triggers. The cold is the worst- I'm a teacher and I lose my voice for too long to function as I should. Have any of you improved?

I take Advair for my CVA. It really helps.
Have you been checked for acid reflux getting in your lungs?
I'm a teacher, too, and I found out that during those high stress moments (you know the ones I'm thinking of) the acid will trigger my asthma.
I kept having those issues and my doctor found out I had LPR. I had surgery for my GERD 14 months ago, and no more losing my voice.

Singulair has been helpful for my cough-variant asthma. I used to use Advair but the Singulair is better for me because I don't get jittery and don't get the steroid issues, and the Singulair also helps my hay fever/sinus issues.
