Hello fellow healingwell friends. Here is my story; please be patient as it is a mouthful to get all out...about 4-weeks ago I had to cut out all of my allergy meds, sudafed, eye drops, etc. to do allergy testing. I got through the allergy testing just fine and then on the last day I was told I could go back to taking all of my medications as needed. I went back to my Zyrtec daily and the other as needed. It was right around that time that I started feeling dizzy or unsteady on my feet with different transitioning positions (sitting to standing, standing to walking, etc).
The following Monday I started allergy shots and saw my regular doctor for the dizziness because it seemed to be happening more often. At that time she told me I had vertigo (BPPV) and it may/may not go away. I didn't feel comfortable with her diagnosis so I took it a step further because on Tuesday and Wednesday after my allergy shot; I had symptoms all day long. My head felt very heavy and it was spinning inside of my head. While walking I felt very unsteady and wobbly on my feet with some nausea. She treated me for a sinus infection with an antibiotic although I didn't really have the symptoms of one. I got no results.
Since then I had a complete eye exam which checked out near perfect. I have seen an ENT and had a CT scan of my sinuses, a hearing test, and a VNG (Videonystagmography) test. This test is used to determine the causes of dizziness, check for balance disorders, and to see if it involves your central nervous system. The results came back and the CT scan looked pretty darn good, my hearing is near perfect, and the VNG showed practically nothing. It also showed I don't have BPPV. At this point; he has no clue what is going on because I do not show signs it is neurological and the results from what he tested were darn good.
I have done research on my end and see lots of information that leads me to possibly a viral inner ear infection. I see it takes quite a bit of time to get over so I asked him and he said it is possible but they way they diagnosis is by elimination and there is nothing that can/can't prove it is a virus. Gee thanks, mister!
So, fellow healingwell friends...does anyone know what is going on? Does anyone have a similar story? Is this related to my allergies or the shots? Does anyone have any advise that can help me out so I can have a glimpse of hope that I am going to recover soon? It has completely altered my life and I want to get back to living! I am obviously still having symptoms although they have eased up some because I have started taking meclizine (helps with vertigo, nausea, etc.) 3x a day. Oh yeah and one more thing...the area I live in; we did not have a hard freeze at all and the weather was very mild. Could this have something to do with it?
Please help in anyway! Thank you to those who finished my book and are willing to lend a hand!
