I am not a doctor, but I do have similar issues. When you swallow and the food has a difficult time going down, does it feel like there is not enough moisture with your food? I often have to wash food down with a drink (especially meats like chicken or pork if they are dry to begin with). If your problem is that you want tp swallow, but just can't, that is a different matter. I have that what I take a certain medication (that I am no longer on). As for the swelling of the lips, are the foods that are doing this fruits? I ask because (again) that is what sets me off. My lips tingle and my tong swells. The taste buds on my tong swell for a couple days afterwards. I do not know how true it is, but I read somewhere that they (some dr somewhere) thinks that this is actually caused by an allergy to something airborn (like a grass or pollen). The food that you eat is very similar in (I think) structure, and your body thinks that food is the same as the airborn allergy you have, so it reacts. I do not know if I can find it, but if I do, I will try to find the link for you.
