kenalog shot forallergies anyone?

i think i'm about to go to doc forkenalog shot

every year i get this thing where i lose my voice twce a year     it's so annoying my doc is buys todaybut said i could come get one.   anyone els get this laryngitis type sickness from allergies?  and does thi shot help?

I've never had this shot but I hope it helps - and if it does, please let me know because I too lose my voice on occasion from my allergies. TOTAL laryngitis :(

i do not think this is allergies. my vboice is worse today and so is my anxiety. it comes with a deep cough i feel nervous this morning. i think it's a virus or i wouldl think i would have woken up feeling better.

In the spring and fall, my allergies are pretty severe, which in turn causes me to get sick. I've read a lot of literature that says allergies do not cause one to get sick, but I think that's hogwash. Everyone in my family has severe allergies and they (especially my kids) would get sick like clockwork every single time their allergies would kick up. For me, when my allergies get bad I end up with pharyngitis which in turn causes me laryngitis. In the past, my doc would put me on Allegra and it would help. Now I'm on allergy meds 24/7 and I have managed to be laryngitis free for a few years now.

Take a deep breath and put your worries on a shelf. That is why my p-doc told me when my anxiety kicks in overdrive. It doesn't always work tho lol I hope you feel better soon.

Allergies create excess mucus in most of us; this makes fertile ground for viruses to thrive. Viral infections, however, usually come with fever. If I don't treat my allergies daily, year-round, with Zyrtec and Advair they will go into asthma, coughing and hoarseness.

Kenalog is a steroid medication, and a powerful anti-inflammatory. This is probably why it helps your allergies. I agree with Sherry that you might do well to treat allergies consistently during your allergy season, to stop the bad symptoms before they develop. And taking a deep breath will not only help your anxiety, it will help your breathing. Breathe as deeply as possible, then slooooowly breathe out through your mouth. Strengthens your respiratory system and helps the anxiety too.
