I had my big doctor appointment today. It looks like I won't get my sense of smell or taste back ever again because of my allergies and the problems they are causing my nose. I am too young for more surgeries (I'm in my 20s) and I can no longer keep taking the hardcore meds that seemed to help. It's too dangerous and will start impacting my other organs. I am not eligible for allergy shots (confirmed by a 2nd doctor).
I was told I shouldn't be doing outdoor activities but honestly running is the only thing that helps me feel better and keeps my positive.
Eventually my breathing will be impacted and he is predicting I will need emergency procedures down the line. For now, I am to just remain on Singulair, Allegra and Prenisdone until they stop working or my breathing gets worse.
Basically, I am out of options for my allergies. I got the sense he was trying to get me to accept the quality of life I have now and to stop trying to be as healthy as I was just years ago. I cannot believe how much my health has declined since my allergies started just 3 years ago.
I am sad today but I am going to just focus on the good in my life and I do agree with him I think it's time to accept how my health is now and just make the best of it rather than continue to take more meds, spend more money and have more surgeries.
Anyway, just needed to share with people who I know will understand.
