I have had allergies my entire life. As a kid I could use benedryl and that would be enough to get me through the day. However, as I was going through puberty they got a bit out of control. It took me a while to find something that would work well enough to keep me awake, alert and able to function as normally as I could at school. This is when I started with the post nasal drip problem. Along with the post nasal drip issue I also suffered from have mucus coming from my eyes, which would result in me having to use hot/warm water in the morning to uncrust my eyes. Again, very little was dripping through my nose. I am 24 now and nothing seems to help eliminate the post nasal drip with is constant. Additionally, now nothing drips through my nose when I am sick or my allergies. I feel congested and blow my nose and nothing comes out. I constantly sound congested to others. I wish I could sound normal again. Nothing drains through my nose anymore. I have post nasal drip all the time. I was diagnosed with asthma recently due to the bad allergy problems. I have indoor and outdoor allergies year round. I have an inhaler for am/pm and one for exercise and emergency. That seems to help with the breathing difficulties however, I still have constant post nasal drip. Yes, this does often times cause nausea. I do suffer from headaches and the occasional migraine. I am at my wits end with this. I am wondering if anyone else went through this. What is the answer to eliminating this post nasal drip dilemma. Am I a candidate for nasal surgery?
